Seriously Happy Scrapbooking Kit Play

Saturday, May 31, 2014

At long last my new personal blog is up and I can share bits and pieces of my life and scrapbooking with those of you who love to get crafty like me. Since I could barely walk I fell in love with painting, crafting and photography. It just seemed natural to name the new blog Paper & Glue Studio since those items play such a big role in my life.

For my first post I'm sharing a layout I made today with the June "Seriously Happy" kit add-on from Citrus Twist Kits.

As life speeds up I find the 8-1/2 x 11 scrapbook pages are just fast, easy and fun. Here is the latest result using one of my favorite photos from 2013:

For the past 4 or 5 years I was on a journey to find an old typewriter to use in my scrapbooking. After my dad passed away early last year and I was going through his lifetime of belongings, I stumbled across his original typewriter that he took to college with him as a young man. This typewriter is so dear to me and every time I use it I think of him. Call me old fashioned, but typing on a vintage typewriter just makes me smile:

Do you love your Silhouette Cameo? If you make the type big enough--many of the script alphabet fonts have fine lines--you can cut out large scripty titles that float on your pages:

Layers, layers and more layers. When I began scrapbooking 15 years ago (okay, really when I was 7 years old, but I took a break and didn't come back to scrapbooking until my daughter was born!) layers, folded layer corners, stitching and more just weren't popular in the world of scrapbooking. But I did it anyway, marching to the beat of my own drum. It's fun to see that lots of scrapbookers worldwide are using layering these days:

I shared this sneak over on the Citrus Twist Kits blog today. This layout just plain made me happy, beginning to end!

What's a girl to do who loves paper and glue?! I'll be back soon to share more life and scrapbooking adventures, tips and tricks with you.
